I've seen the ads for the new Bachelor show on ABC. As usual, a lightbulb popped up and I thought to myself, "Hmm imagine a Khmer version of this..."
What if we selected a single guy, like Khmerleur as the bachelor and send him to Cambodia to find a wife.
As casting director I would select 25 girls from all walks of life--
- garment worker,
- girl who sells sugarcane juice
- snobby Chinee-Khmer
- girl who only goes out at night since she's too scared to get dark
- balute egg-seller
- snail seller,
- cricket-seller
- a DJ from 97.5 Love FM
- a former prostitute
- current prostitute
- a beer girl
- rural school teacher who makes less than $30/mth
- girl who makes palm sugar
- girl who roams the beaches of Sihanoukville asking westerners if she can tweeze their legs with 2 threads,
- apsara dancer
- Hun Sen's daughter
- the director of the Red Cross
- ice cream scooper at Lucky
- program associate at World Bank
- a vietnamese girl
- postcard seller
- a student of Royal University
- a member of the Phnorng Tribe (Rattanakiri)
- girl who frequents the Heart of Darkness
- Khmer Cham
who will KL select? Will he select her for her character? her looks? or her status in Cambodia? So!!!

kl likes girls that are smart..traditional, family oriented. And he's already rich, so #16 wouldn't be his next pick. trust me on that.

Hey KL! You don't like the girl because she's Thai? So strange! First you say she looks like me, (i see no resemblance) then you insult us (because I am also half thai) by saying thai turns you off? It's not always about looks hunny.
BTW, the new bachelor is so good looking! And I love how he's a single dad and he loves his son so much! Sweetie!! OH! And OMYGOSH, I've seen that canadian girl Nicky (she went home the first night) before on another reality show. It was Much Music's new VJ search. She was one of the last people remaining but lost because they brought back the guy the judges booted off earlier and he won because all the girls loved him and it was up to the audiences. She got so pissed.
How come I didn't see her say goodbye or anything in the end when they showed the girls that had to go home that first night.
