Soccer World Cup 2010 |
|
Do you guys know what soccer is? well its only the world most famous sport..U know what, Cambodia didn't qualify for the 2010 world cup..What a bummer, I was depress for a week after I heard the news.. R u guys ready for the 2010 world cup, it is going to be held in Ghana, south Africa. Brazil always make it to the final four. Let see if they can do again next year. I know soccer is not as famous in America as the Euro countries and other soccer countries, but I hope it will get big soon in the US.. Lets eat Bai now I'm hungry.

When I was in Cambo in 2005 I went to the stad and watched a game and the Cambo team was not impressive. To compete in the world one must have great recruit, talents, coach and well established training program. Unfortunately for Cambodian most of the players are not great recruits. They usually consist of family member of the rich which have mediocre talent. I used to play a little football (soccer) when I was younger but not anymore. Soccer is pretty popular in Cambo with people now betting on the games like crazy.

I don't think we have enough funding to bring in talents. I don't know too many talented soccer players even in our neck of the woods. not to say that we don't have the capability, but I don't think it is a priority for us.
if Cambodia had the funding to train, the equipment, the same passion for the support, we could have a good Olympic team. But that is far fetched I'd say at the moment. In Oregon, I only know your cousin who had potential to go far in soccer. but now he is ole and reaching for golf stardom on the asian league. :) regardless of how not so good we are in soccer, i'm proud that we even participate in the olympics. countries should put more effort and funding towards athletes that represent the country. a successful team brings people and the country together. what we need more of.

I'm pretty certain there is no city or place called Ghana, South Africa. The world cup will be held in S. Africa only. Corect me if I'm mistaken. Anyway, I want to see it also, but only in Cape Town. I love that city.

I've seen a few matches at Olympic Stadium--mediocre--and what's with all these Nigerians playing? anyway, I'm looking forward to the World Cup as well. Hopefully, the championship match will be as great as the France v. Italy match of 2006.

One thing i don't like about soccer is the over reacting of the players. The make it so dramatic just because they try to get the other guy penalized. They are such woozy.
