Khmers VS Chinese... |
|
There're plenty of Chinese own business almost in all over the countries. But the most Khmers like to work as employees to get pay by salary, cuz they dislike to put their noses into that position... How come??? KUL

I think you're stirring a lot of animosity among the other Khmer toward chen-Khmer. I am a forth generation chen-Khmer from Battambang. " Khmers vs Chinese " this is such a negative connotation of this complex social economic statistic. The same statistic is true in the United States. I don't know what the statistic is but I would imagine that there are more chen-Khmer business owner than other Khmer. But that does not mean you can label this statistic Khmer vs Chinese. I have nothing against my Khmer brothers or sister. I love the Khmer culture. Its a part of who I am.

In a conversation that I had today, a friend of mine raised the prospect that the Chinese are " The Jews of the East". Now, of course we can all get incensed by this outrageous racism, or we can perhaps try and glean some meaning from this sweeping statement. In this case, I thought that perhaps I agreed in terms of the fact that certainly in Cambodia, but perhaps throughout SE Asia the Chinese seem to have a well established and quite solid grip on most economic transactions. I don't know if this is in fact a racial trait or if it is just my imagination. It could perhaps also be argued that many Khmer lack the skills and knowledge to play hardball in the business world and so, in this position, it is easier just to draw a salary and let someone else worry about the details.

Because they dont want to enlarge their vision or either they dont want to take a risk or may be they have less experiences how the business world work. For chinese people they think that they not gonna get rich by working for someone else, unless they have to do their business of their own. That what they teach their generation .

If you want to know why, read the book title: Rich Dad Poor Dad. The reason why most do not succeed in business is because of some simple mind set. Business minded people, work to make money for their initial capital. Once they save up enough, they start business, they work hard and save up more and reinvest and expanding their business. They build their asset and in turn their asset generate for them more income.
Employee or worker minded people, work to make money, then spend to satisfy their immediate desire. They buy new car, new home, and spend on expensive cloth. They do not know how to invest and build up their asset. Instead they accumulate more and more liability, thus it drains more and more of their resources and income.
This simple mind set that the Rich Dad teach to his kids and that's how the Chinese teach to their kids and when their kids grow up, most of them apply this simple principle and most become very successful.
