So what is/are your school (and/or hoodie) colors? |
|
Please share! For undergrad, my school colors were 'GOLD and BLUE'. I attended a University of California school and so the GOLD and BLUE represented every UC school. Anyway, I have a total of 3 UCSD hooded sweatshirts in the colors : Blue, Grey and Baby Blue (they cost $45 each) and lastly, a non-hooded Navy Blue UCSD sweatshirt (which cost $35). Yes, I had a lot of school pride back in college. But I mean who wouldn't right? I was very proud of the school that I attended aka UCSD because it was the school that I worked hard to get into for college and it was also my dream school to attend for undergrad. I even had a UCSD license plate frame, stuffed animals, pens, pencils, erasers, a planner, notebooks, keychains, pennants, and an official UCSD glass frame (which cost $200) to hang my college diploma in back at my Mom's house. Haha. Oh and everything that I've just listed, I also have as well from Harvard. Anyway, back in college, I would wear my UCSD hoodie to class almost every other day or like when the weather was cold and/or gloomy just to show off my school pride. Dorky I know, but 90% of the student body population did the same thing as well too. hahaha. I still have all my UCSD hoodies to this day and I still wear all of them, well from time to time that is. For grad school, my school color is the classic 'CRIMSON' which is also the name of our unofficial 'mascot' (basically, it's a maroon-ish shade of dark red, if you don't know what Crimson is). I have a total of 3 Harvard hooded sweatshirts in the colors : Crimson, Grey and White (they cost $55 each, but the white zipped up one I got for free because I won it during a raffle that was held at our annual Harvard Alumni Color of Conference which took place this past February of 2008). Anyway, of the three that I have, I love wearing the Crimson colored one the most since this color is uniquely representative of my school and my school alone. In fact, I love the Crimson colored one so much that often times, I even wear it to sleep with me when I'm really really cold or when I'm lazy to change into my PJ's. hahaha. Some of you might have even seen it on my profile page...keke! Anyway, I usually wear my Harvard hoodie to class whenever I'm feeling 'quite' under the weather, cold or bored. Oh, and epecially to our annual football games against our fierce rival, aka Yale. That is, of course to display our school pride, but at the same time to piss the Yalies off. LOL. Can you tell I have a lot of school spirit and pride? Some might see it as pretentious because well, afterall it's Harvard, but does it look like I care? ^_^ In actuality though, I'm just very happy and if that gets misinterpreted as something else by other people, then so be it! I love my school very much and I'm not afraid to show it either. Besides, dropping the H-Bomb is so much fun!!! Plus, there's no law that states that you can't be prideful in and of the school that you attend, now is there?

This got me thinking. When I was at Penn State, I was bleeding blue and white. Pretty much I was the walking advertisement for the school since I always had something PSU on. Now, I go to school for the degree and have nothing to represent DeVry. I should get something next time I'm on campus.

Thanks for sharing, Nitha. hehe. I remember the days when I first met you, you were still a PSU student. Would you happen to know Bong Keo? Not Keo Kim, but the other Keo? She was also a PSU student at the Harrisburg campus I believe. She's currently at UPenn doing her PHD in Education. Blue and white is such a nice combo. I like those colors. My, how time flies. What colors represent DeVry?

Yeap, I know that Keo too. Actually she went to main campus. I met her during my first year I think and hung out every now and then for the next few years I was there. She was at U Penn then went to Harvard and now back again. She's actually a mommy now too or soon anyway. That girl is a career academic.

Haha. She sure is. Bong Keo is super smart and very hardworking. I totally admire her. Oh, I thought main campus was in Harrisburg. Nevermind. I think I'm getting the schools mixed up. Oh yeah, she also did tell me that she originally went to Penn for her master's (but too much distractions), so she decided to transfer to Harvard (haha), then went back to Penn for her PHD. Wow, soon to be mom. I'm happy for her!

Oh, okay! Thanks for clarifying that. The funny thing is I actually have a University of Washington sweatshirt, in dark blue (given to me by Bong Pross, Bong Phatry bought it for me back when I was in college, but in exchange, I got him a UCSD hooded sweatshirt since he collected University Hoodies at the time...lol). Oh, I still have my postcards of UW too. Very beautiful campus, I must say. I love collecting postcards of various university campuses throughout the U.S. UW is on my list of one of the most beautiful campuses.
