Just tell them Hemsoo,if the world could accepted GAY people;why not accepted almost naked arts. Gay people could walk a mong striaght ,so does the naked painting could hang on the wall in every house or building. Who care about culture or society we lilve in. That how people have their freedom to expression, express their thought, their mind, and their imagination, right? May be these couple painting hang in the Buddhist temple would be the ideal. Like Ksaron said to me,if you don't like it,just don't look at it ,period. While the world is hot and spicy, just kept it coming Reahu, your arts are awesome. Only those ignorance and jealousy people think your arts are lousy and porn. LOL

impact can you invite reahu to come and discuss about this?

..

I thought you know him so well. Well,if you want him to show up here so bad,you might have to asked pka3thong to invited him here, cuz she know him so well.

as a feminist, i think they are arts. there were more equality, the rights to bear chest, back then than now...and you called yourself progressive.

you have to put everything in time context and back then everyone and their moms are walking around without shirts or pants...and they think nothing of it. one can't use our current conservative values to judge an epoch of Khmer culture or normatives.

if any of the apsara has blond streak or breast implant, then i will have an issue.

....

Then there wouldn't be the criticizer to rate the movies Mr. porn watcher,if the world doesn't have their own rule to play.

what gives these people the right to shut down the website? I mean under what grounds do they have to do that? BTW is the website registered here in the states?

#25 December 25, 8:23 am

So far, he is the only artist that made a Khmer Rouge look sexy.

1- Those people in Cambodia have lot and lot of money; they can hire any US lawyers (for $400.00/HR) to help them file a lawsuit against the three artists and shutdown their website on cultural ground such as: degrading Cambodian women, Promoting sex tourism, misrepresentation of ancient Apsaras, and other thing they could think of… They think they have long arm now and can reach for the sky…they could win the case here in the US court if they wanted too... MONEY TALK<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

2- According to Networksolutions: reahu.net website is registered and host in the US

I have to apologise that when I first disagreed with the Minister because I viewed only a single picture, and never visited reahu.net before. Now, I really have a complete diffferent view.

He's very creative, and a good imaginary artist, who puts pornography in front of khmer famous scultures...

Hi, Chicky... Can you explain your view further? (As to why your think it is pornography)

If that same guy is Reahu from Khmerwitica.com, then by his postings, I can easily conclude that he's a perv.

I was reading the comments from KI-Media and people have compared his work to that from Roman artists. You can't compare his work to those from the Roman time! Like someone said, it's a hidden form of pornography, you have to be a fool to not see it.

I bet if a WHITE/ or even Vietnamese guy painted those, then the Khmer people will cry over it and accuse him of having an asian fetish/ or that he's subjecting Khmer women as sex objects.

and yes, Porn can be art, but again, some of his work is tasteless art. Like this one: what the heck is this? a Tila Tequila Apsara?

I think it's kind of a fine blurry line with his art. IMO, the first few Apsara would be considered art; however, a few of the other ones (including the Khmer Rouge one) are borderline.
